08 Jan Alexandria Rest Stop Becomes Best Stop for Taylor Brown
As a kid, Taylor Brown recalls Alexandria as the rest stop during family travels from their small North Dakota home of Bathgate to the Twin Cities.
Little did she know that it would become the best stop so far in her life’s journey.
Taylor fits the mold of the young professional, a couple years removed from college, who fully embraces her newly adopted hometown. It’s easy for her. “I’m a people person,” she says. “If I ask ‘How are you?’ I genuinely want to know!”
Working with people, she adds, gives her the energy to thrive in her real estate career with ORB Commercial Real Estate Group in Alexandria . “I love working with businesses. My end goal is to help businesses thrive. That’s why I love the commercial side of real estate so much.” It also matches up nicely with her business administration degree.
Taylor loves Alexandria. “I have never seen a community that is so giving. Multiple times I’ve seen people come around for each other.” Taylor also marvels at the opportunities for community involvement. She serves on the local board for Fellowship of Christian Athletes and co-leads the high-school group. She regularly attends young professional group meetings in both Alexandria and Fergus Falls.
In just two short years Taylor feels part of the Alexandria community. But getting there did take initiative. “My advice for someone my age is to get involved. It’s easy when you have so many organizations and ways to meet people.”
“Live Wide Open” for Taylor means the many lakes. As someone who loves paddleboarding, “the open waters resonate with me.” She also notes the great shopping – both big and small stores – and being able to pursue her lifelong passion for horse riding at a nearby farm. “I can’t imagine being happier anyplace else.”
